Through collaboration with government and non-profit partners, we match resources to un-met needs in an effort to assist residents achieve post disaster stability. We provide disaster preparedness education throughout the community with a focus on vulnerable residents. We assist our non-profit stakeholders with Continuity of Operations Planning. Please drop an email if your church, club, or civic organization would like a presentation! We are continually seeking volunteers to serve on an as needed basis as well as actively recruiting for our non-profit partners who will play a role in disaster recovery.
The Disaster Services program of Volunteer Prince William serves Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park in managing volunteers and donations particularly in the recovery phase of locally declared disasters. We will operate as many as two Volunteer Reception Centers post-disaster. Based on a proven model out of Florida for disaster volunteer management, a Reception Center will ensure the safe and efficient use of spontaneous volunteers. Our donations management process is based on nationally accepted protocols and is supported by several non-profit organizations including some members of National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.
